SVG compatibility
Analysis
Square Sketch uses only features of the SVG 1.1 (Second Edition) standard, which was released in 2011 and therefore should be widely supported. However, apps decide themselves during import which features they implement.
You can verify that the SVG file is correct by opening it in a modern browser.
Solutions
- PNG is the default export format and offers the greatest compatibility. So if you don’t necessarily need the SVG format, export a high-resolution PNG instead.
- Use the latest version of your target app or use a modern alternative if it hasn't been updated for a long time.
- Simplify your draft so that, for example, it does not contain hatch fills or inversions.
Fonts
Analysis
Square Sketch only displays fonts that directly support the styling options available in the app: regular, bold, italic, and bold italic.
Solutions
- Fonts are often further developed and styles are added over time. A font can also consist of multiple files that can be installed individually. Make sure that your desired font supports the four styling options and that the latest version is fully installed.
- Use a substitute font that resembles your desired font and directly supports all four styling options.
